Rock Paper Scissors ~ Maine's Stationery Boutique

From time to time I make an excursion to Rock Paper Scissors in Wiscasset, Maine to buy treats: stationery, notebooks, blank books, pens, fancy graph papers...It is the finest, most varied & interesting paper & pen boutique that I know of. (And I know of what I speak: These shops are to me what patisseries are to pastry connoisseurs.)
Rock Paper Scissors has a charming shop front on Main Street.
You will be charmed by what you see in the windows before even going in!
It's Valentine's time, many of the unique cards are created with letter press. Tables & shelves everywhere are stacked with blank books of all sizes, even tiny ones, cards, stickers, magnets, delicate gift bags, tie-on labels, pens & pins, & ceramic bowls...

...colored tapes from Japan, colored ribbons & colored papers, everywhere you look!
Art materials! Look at how beautifully everything is arranged! I want that watercolor set!
There is a lovely children's toy section with pretty art card games, puzzles, soft baby toys & quality books. Lots of picture books for children, books about art & paper & Origami, oh Yes!
The proprietor, Erika Soule, has had this shop of happy delights since 2001. She asked her dog, Abby, to fill in for her for a photo. Abby is polite & sweet & VERY BIG, with a coat reminiscent of a polar bear. She gently visits with customers, or leaves them alone, as they wish. She is a content dog, but then, of course, how could she not be, surrounded by all these pleasures!

Erika just got back from a big buying trip for the upcoming spring & summer season. So, when traveling in "Vacationland" this year, do stop in to visit Rock Paper Scissors, this Wanderer's favorite papeterie.
