Windows into Spring

Today I ran into an acquaintance who is a passionate gardener.
"How are you, M The Gardener?" I asked.
"I just planted my seedlings in the basement,"
she answered, looking off into space with a smile.
Was she looking off into springtime?
Me, I can't see that far ahead at the moment.
Or, maybe, just a little, when I am playing with ink & paint...

  2. Fun! Our spring is arriving although it's been a little cool lately. The azaleas are starting to bloom and our lettuce and basil are coming up in our yard. I love when everything starts growing again!! xoxo Silke

    1. You live in such an amazing climate, Silke! Lettuce already! Azaleas come late here in Maine (as does lettuce), but I remember the glorious azalea bushes of Maryland! Thanks for stopping by, Rita

  3. Oh what a great way to garden when you cant. Paint it. Nicely done. I did that for years when I had no yard to speak of. Spring IS coming. The plum trees are swelling to bloom soon. Our valley in spring is one pink wonderland. :)

  4. Gardeners don't live with same rythm . They're always looking far away ahead.

With your pens and pencils , you can live in the season you choose! Imagine how lucky you are! :o)

  7. Dear RIta, I haven't visited for a while. I took a blogging break which was not planned and somehow lasted longer than I expected. Thank you for your concern. Everything is fine.
W Warszawie jeszcze śnieg i zimno, ale już czekam na wiosnę. W tym roku jest wczesna Wielkanoc, wiec może wiosna też się pospieszy.
    Have a lovely weekend!

  8. Gardeners are dreamers -- they order way too many seeds and plants that portend lovely gardens and so as a result they have fantasy dreams of what they're gardens will look like. Sometimes the fantasy comes true and sometimes not. Just like life. But one should never stop dreaming. Your sketch is wonderful -- I would call it gardening through a window. And your words made me think about gardeners as dreamers. -- barbara
