It was still high tourist season on Mount Desert Island but a friend & I drove over anyway.
We found a few quiet places for sketching.
I added 2 more panels to my Acadia accordion sketchbook (Moleskine).
(first featured in a post on June 20)
There are still many blank pages to fill.
And hopefully many more occasions to visit this beloved place.
What are the places to which you love to return?
OH I just love how it is looking.I bought one after you showed us yours:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your good ideas.
Yes..I would love to go back to Martha's Vineyard..Nantucket..the Cape.
I loved San Gimignano,Italy..Gordes,France..Ménerbes,France..Isle sur la Sorgue..France..And..Venice..and Florence.
I see us returning to Massachussetts, the others..not so clearly.
It's so nice to have favorite places to which we want to return. And then, we are lucky, when home is one of them, right?
DeleteIsn't Susan Branch from Marth's Vineyard? It is harder to travel overseas, for me...and yet, maybe one more time...
Love that "work in progress"!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWork in progress...I'm practicing that more these days...Fewer things are instant these days...
DeleteLove your accordion sketch book, must look into buying one. But life's a lot too busy for painting at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI know how you are creative and active in so many ways, Barbara...especially during the summer season...
DeleteWhat a cool sketchbook! Sometimes braving the crowds is worth it.
ReplyDeleteI know. There is a reason why so many people travel to Acadia National Park each summer...You travel to many beautiful places on your western side of our country...
DeleteVery very cool . . . you have such calm and such patience . . .to fill up the book bit by bit, instead of rushing through to finish it. :))
ReplyDeleteHahaha, me calm and patient! But yes, I am enjoying this slower project...
DeleteThat would be great to get this letter one day...)
