One of my biggest pleasures,
during our annual May trip to Québec City,
is to hang out in cafés.
Le Paillard is a "café-boulangérie" in the old city,
a gathering place for tourists.
Often in May you see large high school groups.
Perhaps it attracts tourists & residents alike.
Sometimes I can't tell the difference.
It's large & casual, part café, part breakfast & lunch spot.
The wonderful baked goods & espresso...
...are well worth waiting for in line.
Come to Le Paillard to converse...
to read.
Or,
of course...
to sketch!
J'adore!!!♥
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a great day! Love that soft blue wash too!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect spot for some people watching and sketching (and, of course, a pastry or two).
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteRita -- Energy abounds in your Quebec sketches! What a fun series. I have been to Quebec once and was taken by its old architecture and history. It was a long time ago that I was there -- I am sure it has changed and that there are many more tourists now than when I visited in my twenties. Very nice post -- barbara

ReplyDeleteLovely! Your sketches capture a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteYou are so, so good at this -- capturing the everyday postures and pursuits. I LOVE these! xx
ReplyDeleteWitam serdecznie.
ReplyDeleteI've been there. Good place to people watch too.
ReplyDeleteThat sweet sketch of the students reminds me of my grand-daughter.
