"What are you making?" asked her mother,
"other than a mess."
The child didn't answer. She put down her brush,
and she ran outside to play.
"Tell me about your painting," said her art teacher.
The child answered,
"It's a painting."
They laughed, together, they laughed.
The child dipped her brush back in the paint,
and she sloshed on another line.
What an invaluable lesson!
ReplyDeleteI think that's why I can't sing..not because of my parents..the choir director at school.
Love these rich colors.
I so relate!!
ReplyDeleteAs a mom it makes me cringe to think of things I may have said to my girls in this vein...
ReplyDeleteGod bless the teachers who have nurtured all the little artistic souls out there! I had a creative writing teacher in high school who changed my life. Thank you for being one of the nurturers!
ReplyDeleteAnd look at the vibrancy there!
ReplyDeleteAin't it the truth. Paint on!
ReplyDeleteWitam serdecznie. Dziecko zawsze trzeba wysłuchać, zrozumieć i chwalić jego małe pasje. Pozdrawiam i ślę całusa.
ReplyDeleteIt was sort of like that with me....I wanted to do art but was forced to do music. I never enjoyed it.
