From the Sketchbook: Café-Boulangérie Québec

One of my biggest pleasures,
during our annual May trip to Québec City,
is to hang out in cafés.
Le Paillard is a "café-boulangérie" in the old city,
 a gathering place for tourists.
Often in May you see large high school groups.
Perhaps it attracts tourists & residents alike.
Sometimes I can't tell the difference.
It's large & casual, part café, part breakfast & lunch spot.
The wonderful baked goods & espresso...
...are well worth waiting for in line.
Come to Le Paillard to converse...
to read.
Or,
of course...
to sketch!

  2. Sounds like the perfect spot for some people watching and sketching (and, of course, a pastry or two).

  3. Marvelous sketches. Quebec City is on my list to visit. I have been reading the Inspector Gamache mysteries by Louise Penny. I have visited Montreal but never gotten that far North. I love this little cafe.

  4. Rita -- Energy abounds in your Quebec sketches! What a fun series. I have been to Quebec once and was taken by its old architecture and history. It was a long time ago that I was there -- I am sure it has changed and that there are many more tourists now than when I visited in my twenties. Very nice post -- barbara

  8. Witam serdecznie.
