Happy Easter, Joyeuses Pâques, Wesołych Świąt Wielkanocnych.
I had thought, how nice it would be to buy a few flowers
to mark this day.
But at the grocery store I couldn't feel any spirit in
the mass quantities on display.
Meanwhile, a friend received a super abundant bouquet, brimming with color & love.
She decided to share it with friends by making mini bouquets,
delivering them by car, a veritable Flowers on Wheels.
Mine was minimal & elegant,
matching my current need for lightness, airiness, & simplicity.
(I'm still working hard at clearing out possessions.)
How lovely, these stems, full of Easter floral tradition,
expressing a spirit of caring & the return of earth's colors.
(Outdoors, there's still a lot of snow on the ground,
& gray atmosphere,
but I did see some crocuses yesterday.)

What a lovely thoughtful idea of your friend to share her bouquet with her friends, ( two lovely lilies for you to paint ) then you will always have the memory of them in your home. ( sans parfume ) Thank you for your kind comment on my recent post. In times gone by the English word for a tiny/small bouquet of flowers is a posy so I always use this word it sounds so much nicer than a bunch of flowers, which seems to be used now. hope your snow will melt away & spring will be in your area soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Happy Easter. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahha
ReplyDeleteCome swim in paris's slightly heated pools then
LOVE all yr great Amst suggestions!
Thanks rita !!!!
I love your sentiments and the stems are "Springy". What a wonderful friend.
ReplyDeleteWitam serdecznie. Miło, ze strony przyjaciela, że podzielił się kwiatami. Ty dostałaś piękne i pewno pachnące lilie. Mam nadzieję, że miło spędzasz Święta, mimo zimowej scenerii. U nas zimno dalej i śnieg czasami pada. Dzięki, że pisałaś po polsku u mnie. Trochę to było pewno trudne dla Ciebie, ale to było miłe. Pozdrawiam serdecznie i ślę buziaki.
ReplyDeleteHow nice of your friend to share--now your flowers have meaning as well as beauty. I know what you mean about cleaning out possessions. I just cleaned our our coffee mug shelf yesterday. Those things multiply while we're not looking (that's the only explanation, right?). I got rid of enough that we can fit all our favorites in there, and hopefully someone else can use the ones we no longer need.
ReplyDeleteHow NICE was that?
ReplyDeleteSo nice!
Grosses bises !
After Maine's winter, minimal flowers do the trick. I like this against some watercolors.
ReplyDeleteLove your friend's gesture, esp. her sense that this minimal choice would so elegantly suit you. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. What a fun way to share the joy of the season!
ReplyDeleteI do also love to see the crocuses peeking out of the snow. Such defiant little flowers!
Such a lovely way to spread and share JOY!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice friend! Her bouquet to you was simple elegance. You surely are a special friend to her. -- barbara
