Forget Me Nots

Recently a dear new friend recited a children's poem
in Polish to me, called Niezapominajki.
Forget Me Nots.

I made this little drawing/painting to thank her.

But now this seems like a serendipitous little post.   I may not make many more as the new format for posting is too complicated for me. I'd rather spend time with my art, though I love the 8 years I've been Sketchbook Wandering.

(The name is copywrited & you may see it somewhere else along with my own name in the future.)

Niezapominajki were a favorite flower of my dear mother's.

I loved seeing their lightness this spring during my early quarantine-time neighborhood walks.

Niezapominajki
to są kwiatki z bajki!
Rosną nad potoczkiem,
patrzą rybim oczkiem.

Gdy się płynie łódką,
Śmieją się cichutko
I szepcą mi skromnie:
„Nie zapomnij o mnie”.

  1. Lovely painting.
You can still access the old blogger. Legacy they're calling it.

  2. I love this, Rita. And your friend will be delighted to receive such a special gift in thanks for her own beautiful gift to you.

I hope you can continue on Legacy but I am getting the handle on new blogger pretty well and will be happy to help you with questions if I can. I work on a laptop and I know that the interface for tablets is different, but I'd love to try. I hate to see you give up the blog because of the system. And it's not that different once you figure out a few things. Don't hesitate to email me and I'll try.

  5. I am still using the old blogger. I hate the new "improved" model.

  6. So sweet, Rita! I do agree about all the challenges involved in posting --- correcting our uploads, resizing, uploading, adding, etc. I will miss your wonderful posts, though -- but do hope I can find your elsewhere ....

  7. Ah Rita - I am so sorry to read that you will not be posting. Seeing your sketches and lovely art is always such and inspiration. I have struggled with blogger too. You are so right it takes such a huge amount of time to get it to work. Not sure why there was a need for change. Your Myosotis is lovely and I am sure your friend will appreciate this wonderful gift. Take care and stay safe. Hugs!

  8. If you choose not to post, I understand...sometimes I think the programs are changed just so the company can say 'New!' and 'Improved!' rather than due to any real change to the functions available (Quick Books, I'm looking at you!). And I will feel sad, as I have very much enjoyed the art and words you have shared. Be well.

  12. I should have mentioned in the previous comment that I'm at the University of Minnesota and I'm interested in watercolor as a student. I just want to request permission to download some of your postings for my own use, as I learn to do watercolor and ink. I will not in any way share or distribute or sell any of your work; this is for my own training in watercolor. Again, many, many thanks for all your wonderful posts!

  13. I just started using the new Blogger, after reverting to Legacy several times. I can't say I like it, but I'm going to TRY not to throw another fit about the constant changing of technology.

I love your little flowers, and I would miss your posts if you choose not to continue.
