Boats in the Harbor (of Bar)

If I'm going to keep gazing out to the harbors & to the Bay, I guess I will be drawing boats alot...This is a little snippet from a photo I took in the village park in Bar Harbor. I didn't sketch right there because I was eager to disappear into the woods by Eagle Lake (2 posts ago).
Two versions, perhaps you could vote for your preference, Dear Visitor, telling why.
I have no prizes, just a Thank You for looking!

  1. i like them both, but i think i favor the 'deeper' feel to the first one. the 2nd version is brighter and lighter - perhaps more cheerful, but i like the darker trees, darker shadows of the first.

  3. Oba są śliczne. Jeśli mam wybierać, to wybieram pierwszy, bo łodzie są kolorowe. Pozdrawiam cieplutko.

  4. Rita -- Like them both, of course. If I had to pick one I believe I would choose the top one. Something about it spells quietude to me. I hope you do more harbor scenes -- you do a great job of giving the harbor feeling.

  5. Ditto what Tex said! Really tuff to pick. I so adore your watercolor sketches. I should get my butt in gear!

  6. Love them both; would choose the top one -- fewer boats gives quieter feel? xx

  7. I like both, of course, but I prefer the first because the way you painted the water gives it more movement.
