Cool Summer Colors. Vibrant Fabric Colors

A little road trip off the beaten path.
Not the coastal route with tourists & cars
& clusters of restaurants and hotels.
This was roller coaster ribbon roads,
forests, farms, scattered country homes.
Occasional views of distant fields
& faraway mountains.
Destination:
A fabric store in the city, about 50 miles away.
I've been luxuriating in assembling
vibrant colors of cloth.

And yesterday I basked in
cool country colors
on a wet summer day.

  1. Mentally, I'm traveling the roads of Maine with you... Sounds much more pleasant than the hot, steamy roads of Florida right now. Since we've been staying at home, little field trips like yours have become so precious.

  5. I love it when you show your painting journal! And oh, how fun to get the fabrics you like. I love your quilt square. Happy Fourth.

And on another note, thank you for your wonderful comment on my post about the book about the resistance and Paris in WWII. What a story you have to tell. Your parents sound like remarkable people in every way possible -- and brave, strong souls who lived through a terrible time. I respect them tremendously. What models to have in your life. Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
