I've become a child, seeing things for the first time:
"Look! Clouds & sky!" "Look! Leaves sparkle & wave in the sun!"
"Look, a blue lake!" "Look! The ocean, mountains!"
Anne Lamotte in her book Help, Thanks, Wow: The Three Essential Prayers writes:
"Gorgeous, amazing things come into our lives when we are paying attention..."
Such a simple idea but it can be easy for me to forget...
Seems to me your eyes always find beauty.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the left white trees effect~And for some reason the one to the left looks happy:)
SO beautiful!
ReplyDeletethis really speaks to me!! creative, colorful and so unique. what talent you have!!
ReplyDeleteTexWisGirl suggested your blog to me, and I like what I've seen so far. The painting today is very nice, and I love the quote by Anne Lamotte with the three essential prayers. I enjoyed the post and illustrations you did yesterday, too, about missing the autumn leaves already. I think I'll go look around a little more.
ReplyDelete"La beauté est dans le l'oeil de celui qui regarde", and there's a lot of beauty in the way you look at things..
ReplyDeleteJust passed a window and was stopped by a brilliant red and orange tree and said WOW! and then saw y our message . . . I know exactly what you mean . . . autumn is sure putting on a show up here!
ReplyDeleteWould you please rub off on me!!! I adore your watercolors. So free and breezy!
ReplyDeleteI seem to feel like that every autumn, Rita. I am annually amazed at the wonder of colors and transformation. This looks like your Mount Desert Island photograph.
ReplyDeleteSO wonderful... I was a watercolorist (and sold a number of paintings) prior to driving school bus for 15 years... but you've inspired me to get out my paper, brushes and paints... whose paints do you use??? I used almost exclusively Daniel Smith Watercolors...
I guess we traded environments you to country from city and I from country to city. I am looking for a place (slowly) in the country -- here in the Pacific Northwest. I really like the environment here but would like a bit more feeling of country. Enjoyed your watercolor landscape and your words of enjoyment of what you are finding at your new place. -- barbara
